Organic wine
Organic farming is increasingly becoming a matter of course for many European vineyards. Sustainability and regionality are values that have become more important to wine connoisseurs around the world. This change is evident both in Switzerland and especially in the south of France at Languedoc-Roussillon. Organic wine – whispered about behind closed doors just a few years ago – is now in vogue with consumers.
Château Laquirou cultivates its 40 hectares in a controlled, organic way. Careful management of our environment is crucial for wine quality. With 3000 hours of sunshine per year and little precipitation, it is vital for our vines to root in a healthy and balanced groundwater reserve. We want to use resources as sparingly as possible.
We are proud to carry the logo of the French inspection body «AB» (Agriculture Biologique) and the EU organic label on our bottles.

The best expression of the terroir
The range of Château Laquirou wines is comprehensive and at the same time typical of the region. From the very beginning, we have been committed to the recall value of our wines, which are intended to reflect the predominant terroir – our particular location by the Mediterranean on an «island» of biodiversity with climatic conditions ranging from biting winter winds to dry, hot summer months. The results are mature wines made with our best grapes harvested from healthy vines. The natural surroundings can be found in our wines too in the typical herbal scent of the south of France – the «garrigue».
